Tortellini with Smoked Salmon Walnut Gorgonzola Cream Sauce Recipe

- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 Tbs. butter
- 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
- 2 Tbs. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 cup crushed walnuts
- 3/4 cup crumbled smoked salmon
- 8 oz. pre-cooked cheese tortellini (precooked is best -- if you use dry, cook according to pkg. directions)
- Shredded Parmesan cheese for garnish
Preparation:
- In a large saute pan, combine 1 cup heavy cream and 1 tablespoon butter.
- Bring to a light boil.
- Add 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, 2 tablespoons minced garlic, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1 teaspoon dried oregano.
- Add 1/2 cup crushed walnuts and 3/4 cup crumbled smoked salmon.
- Continue to reduce for 2 to 4 minutes then add 8 ounces cooked cheese tortellini.
- Saute until pasta is hot.
- Garnish with shredded Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
