World Wide Gourmet Foods Returns to the Smokehouse, Releases All-Natural Gourmet Soups
World Wide Gourmet Foods, in conjunction with the Food Innovations Center in Portland, Oregon have developed nine gourmet dry soups and two all-natural breads for release.
June 23, 2008 - Woodinville, WA - World Wide Gourmet Foods, Inc. is pleased to introduce a new line of nine gourmet vegetarian based dry soups and two breads marketed under the Smokehouse Soups & Spices™ brand. The soups were developed with the input of the Food Innovations Laboratory of Portland, Oregon over the course of six months The end result of their careful collaboration is a line of soups with a perfect blend of natural ingredients to capture the taste of homemade. The aroma and flavor are reminiscent of a summering cast iron kettle over the open hearth. Smokehouse Soups & Spices returns to the roots of gourmet cooking with no additives, preservatives or MSG, and only the purest ingredients and spices are contained in each product, providing a truly satisfying cooking and eating experience.
World Wide Gourmet Foods – and subsidiaries Alaska Smokehouse®, The Famous Pacific Dessert Company®, Sleepless in Seattle Coffee®, Leila Bay Trading Company™ and Smokehouse Soups and Spices™ – is the premier gourmet food manufacturer that offers superior variety and quality gourmet food products. The Food Innovations Center opened in 1999 as a joint initiative of Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Agriculture. The Oregon State University programs at the Food Innovations Center are organized as a branch station of the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station with research programs in Sensory and Consumer Science, Market and Trade Economics, and Food Business Strategy.
“We started with the idea that these soups should be rich with flavor and have an interesting texture, because that is essentially what gourmet food is all about,” Jack Praino, Owner and President of World Wide Gourmet Foods stated. “We personally tasted many, many variations of each soup until we found the recipe that we wanted to share.”
Smokehouse Soups & Spices undertook a painstaking effort to find the purest beans, spices and rice to make sure that the soups have a truly country feel. Due to this effort these soups are a healthy alternative to canned soups.
Stony River Chili, one of the nine flavors of soups, is named after the Stony River village in Alaska. The village began as a trading post and a riverboat landing to supply the mining operations in the north. This rustic vision of the Great Alaskan Wilderness is reflected in the chili and spices. Each soup has the same rustic feel, tracing its roots back to the Alaskan Wilderness.
Smokehouse Soups & Spices’ line of nine gourmet soups currently includes Copper Mountain Split Pea Soup, Crooked Creek Mushroom & Rice Soup, Gold Rush Minestrone Soup, Golden Lake Country Bean Soup, Hatcher Pass Lentil & Potato Soup, Stampede Trail Bell Pepper & Potato Soup, Stony River Chili, Sunny Cove Chicken & Wild Rice Soup, and Totem Tortellini Soup. Two breads will also be part of the line, with Aurora Glacier Biscuits and Saw Mill Bay Muffins. Smokehouse Soups & Spices will be available at stores and on the web at www.smokehousesoups.com starting June 23, 2008.
World Wide Gourmet Foods will officially announce Smokehouse Soups & Spices’ product line of gourmet soups at the Summer 2008 Fancy Food Show in New York City, booth 539.
